I agree with the first two reviewers... they pay for nothing! I am dropping them at the end of this month..

Never had more hassles with any insurance in my life. Will not pay for anything, amount of paper work involved for claims is staggering!.

Look out your claim will be denied..... I have been denied a simple dental cleaning while my brother-in-law has been denied his 100,000 cancer treatment claim..

I work in the insurance industry and therefore have some understanding both of the corporate mindset and the sometimes counter-intuitive approach to claims that carriers sometimes adopt. Over the last five (5) years, however, my wife and I have encountered horrific problems absolutely every time we have been obligated to obtain anything but the most rudimentary or commonplace healthcare. Customer service is an unintentionally ironic joke at Health Net: absurd hold times, telephone associates who either provide incorrect information or no information at all. As I type this, I'm on hold, waiting for a supervisor to explain to me why a request for prior authorization form, completed by my wife's doctor and marked "urgen," was reviewed - and then returned to the physician with the advice that it needed to be forwarded by the DOCTOR to Medical Management rather than the Prior Authorization or Pharmacy department because of the nature of the medication and condition involved. I should, of course, be happy to be going through this process - two (2) weeks ago, representatives of Health Net working for Caremark (Health Net's apparent agent or TPA) informed me that the medication absolutely could not be covered under any circumstances, though a more expensive, far more uncomfortable and less efficacious version of the same active ingredient WAS potentially covered - if the prescription was re-issued by the doctor. Overall, Health Net's conduct demonstrates the absolute worst abuses of the health insurance industry and the most absurd features of the corporate/bureaucratic mentality..

Have used Health Net for 7 years now as my medical insurance provider. I have a high deductible PPO. ($1500 deductible/ $3000 per year max out of pocket) The policy is great in that I can see any specialist without referral from a "gatekeeper", which saves time and money both. Healthnet negotiates the fees with the doctors on their list, and so my Dr. bills (which I pay in full until I meet the annual deductible) are often around 50% of the Dr' s normal billing price. Lab fees and screenings are not covered until you meet your annual deductible, so those can add up fast. I only reached the annual out of pocket once. My only complaint is the occasional delay between the Dr. or lab visit and the payment report and bill. I had one bill that took two full years to reach me! Apparently if the lab or Dr. has a dispute with the negotiated fee, they go back and forth with Healthnet until they come to an agreement, then they send the bill. So far, only one major medical incident (emergency room for a kidney stone), and all was covered. So I have no complaints.

Though there are a large number of insurance policies grown as mushroom all over the world, I never had the courage to subscribe to a plan that is not reliable. This doubt in my mind made me to study various plans in right manner and finally found out a trust worthy health care plan. Health Net has a managed health care plan to which I subscribed and now I know that they will take care of all the costs for my hospital expenses. They have shown several times that they are there for me at times of difficulties. This trust is strengthened each day as I witness the way they are serving their customers including me..

I recieved a colorectal screening this morning (colonoscopy and Health Net treats it a a surgical procedure. The copy for a colorectal scrrening is $0. the copay for a colonoscopy is $150.00. I was charged a copay of $150.00. Occording to the CDC adn American Cancer Society - a colonoscopy is performed for a colorectal screening. When presented with this information they stuck to requiring a $150.00 copay. Their Summary of Benefits brochure clearly lies..
